Martha Glass, Ph.D., serves as an executive director in student affairs operations and administration at Virginia Tech. Martha has oversight of assessment, professional development, and human resources. In this capacity she coordinates assessment for 24 departments as they develop and implement outcomes based assessment strategies that lead to continuous improvement of programs and services that support student learning and administrative effectiveness. She also oversees assessment educational efforts, coordinates program reviews, research projects about the student experience, and assists with strategic planning and accreditation activities. In addition, she provides leadership for professional development and human resources for 3,600 faculty, staff, and students in the division. Martha holds a Ph.D. in educational leadership and policy studies in higher education from Virginia Tech and is an assistant professor in the higher education and student affairs program at Virginia Tech. Martha is chair-elect of the ACPA Commission on Assessment and Evaluation.
Jen Wells, Ph.D., is the director of assessment and assistant professor of higher education in first-year in transition studies. She leads the development and implementation of assessment and evaluation activities for institutional-level projects, including the university strategic plan, quality enhancement plan, and momentum year initiative. Jen earned her Ph.D. in college student affairs administration from UGA, BA in German and history from Albion College, and a MA in student affairs administration from Michigan State.
