Missy Korduner, Ph.D., serves as the director of first year experience at Louisiana State University where she oversees staff development, assessment, strategic planning, and budgeting. Prior to serving as the director, Dr. Korduner was the advisor to the LSU STRIPES extended orientation program for seven years. She has over 15 years experience in higher education with experience in training and development, transition programs, program development, housing, and student organizations. Dr. Korduner received her doctorate from Louisiana State University in human resource education, and her master's in higher education/student affairs and bachelor's in music from the University of Connecticut.
Maggi Spurlock serves as a senior program coordinator of first year experience and oversees academic programming initiatives, implementation and enhancement of Bengal Bound, the campus wide welcome week for all students, and coordination and oversight of the FYE student leader selection and training process as well as the development of a campus wide peer education conference experience. In addition, Ms. Spurlock oversees all social media and marketing initiatives since FYE’s inception in 2008. Previous professional experience includes work as a coordinator in the center for excellence in learning and teaching for coordinating the common reading program and academic convocation. Ms. Spurlock received her bachelor's in history and english from Louisiana State University.
