Tamara Coronella, Ed.D. has worked over 18 years in higher education. She currently serves as the director of academic services with the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering where she oversees academic advising. In her role, she develops programs and activities designed to support students through to graduation. As a critical race researcher, she focuses on the institutional practices and systems which marginalize students. In her practices, she engages Latinx students’ assets and strengths, changing the narrative from a deficit view to an asset-based view. Tamara is passionate about working with first-generation and Latinx students to achieve their professional and academic goals. Outside of her work and research pursuits, she is the proud mother of two boys and the wife of a husband who shares her passion for travel and exploration.
