Brandy S. Propst is an energetic and experienced higher education professional with over 10 years of experience working in orientation, transition, and retention programs. She currently works at Elon University in the division of academic affairs as the director of Elon 101 and assistant director of academic advising in the office of academic support and advising. She also holds several leadership positions in NASPA as a member of the NASPA Undergraduate Fellows Program (NUFP) Advisory Board and chair of the NUFP alumni committee and as a member of the NASPA Center for Women (CFW) Board and chair of the CFW Candid Conversations mentoring program. She has been recognized by NASPA, ACPA, and NCCPA with awards for her contribution to the field of student affairs/higher education and in the area of first-year experience. In addition to her experience and roles within higher education, Brandy is a certified salary negotiation trainer/facilitator for the American Association of University Women (AAUW). She regularly presents on issues affecting Black women in higher education, pay equity, professional development of student affairs professionals and topics related to transition and retention for first-year students. Brandy received her B.A. in sociology and African American studies and M.Ed. in student personnel administration in higher education from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) and is currently pursuing her doctorate degree in the Ph.D. program in educational studies with a concentration in cultural studies at UNCG.
She is excited to share tips and resources to help women in student affairs learn how to ask for what we want, become advocates for closing the gender pay gap and fight for a better future for ourselves and our families.
